A fantastic visit to Liverpool for the stunning Tall Ships event

The Tall Ships are visiting Liverpool to mark the city’s 10th anniversary of its Capital of Culture year. And you can be there to witness this magnificent spectacle and join in the celebrations.

This morning we make the short journey to Liverpool. The afternoon is free for you to view the Tall Ships or explore the area. We then head to the hotel for dinner.

Spend a day at the Tall Ship's event viewing the ships that will be docked on the bank of the famous River Mersey. Over the weekend an international fleet of tall ships will take over the city of Liverpool for the start of the Three Festivals Tall Ship Regatta. The ships are a stunning spectacle and there is a fantastic opportunity for you to step aboard many beautiful tall ships from across the world. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Make the most of your Liverpool weekend.

Liverpool has a lot going for it and so it’s not surprising it was recognised as a City of Culture in 2008.  You could visit the fabulous Liverpool One shopping centre or the famous Albert Docks, the country’s largest group of Grade I listed buildings, where you will find the Beatle’s Story museum and the Tate Liverpool art gallery.  Not too far away is The Cavern Quarter, most well-known because of the Cavern Club, where you will also find a statue of John Lennon, the Beatles store and Brian Epstein’s former record shop.  Or you could take a stroll down to the Pier Head where you will find a trio of landmarks, referred to as "The Three Graces.”  The Royal Liver Building, crowned by mythical Liver Birds, The Cunard Building, former headquarters of the Cunard Line and the Port of Liverpool Building, former home of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board.
